What is 3d-printing.

3D-printing , also known as rapid-prototyping is a technology that is already known for about 30 years when the computers became more powerful. There are a few types of prototyping like stereo lithography, Fused deposition modeling and selective laser sintering. All these methods are some similar to each other but all with different types of materials and all with it's own properties. They project a thin layer in or on material, every print time they built up a product by placing layers on layers until a product expose. Every method has its own quality and behavious. Now it is a bit expensive but soon the prises will drop rapidly. The technology is increasing and they say that soon ( some say 10 years ) you will find 3d-printers on every desk at home just like the inkt-jetprinters are now . What the future will be with these printers is now difficult to predict but the signs are good.
